Identify the connecting platform of the next train. This may sound straightforward, but if you forget to ask and then have to waste time going to the train station information area, you might miss your train.

Locate your train car before the train even arrives. A lot of European train stations have a board with a map of all the trains that pass through the station, which allows you to find your train car before the train arrives. This allows you to know where you should be standing on the platform when your train arrives.

Avoid booking a reservation on the last train of the day. There are usually a number of trains traveling to the same destination each day. It is usually best to book a train that has at least one more train coming at a later time just in case there are any issues.
